Google Liturgical Calendar for Catholics, Lutherans, and Episcopalians

Yesterday, I was searching the internet for a possible liturgical calendar that included multiple Christian churches.  I did not find one, but I did find this site that showed how to import the Catholic Liturgical Calendar to a Google Calendar.  Click here to see the link.  I was familiar with the Universalis site, as it it one of the best resources I have found online for the Liturgy of the Hours.

If you have a Google account, you already have Google Calendar available to you.  For those that do not, it might be worth creating an account just so you can use the Google calendar.

When I found out it was possible to import the content from the Universalis site , I wondered if there might be other sites that offered it too. The other two I found were from the Episcopal Church USA and Concordia Publishing House (The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.)

Here is a picture of the three combined.  I also included the option of showing American holidays.

These different entries are not just visible.  They are also clickable in Google Calendar.  For instance, when you click on the content entered from the Universalis site (shown in dark red), you will see this link shown below.

You can then click on the link in blue, and be taken directly to this page, which has even more optional links at the top.

This is what comes up when you click on the Episcopal (shown in rose) and Lutheran (shown in gold) entries on the Google calendar.

The Concordia Publishing House (CPH) Lutheran Pocket Diary shows the daily readings. Unfortunately, the Episcopal link does not.  The Saints’ Feast Days show up are the only information that shows up on the calendar.

Here are the links for all three Liturgical Calendars I found that can be imported to your Google Calendar:

• Catholic Liturgical Calendar:  http://www.universalis.com/calendar.htm

• Lutheran Liturgical Calendar: http://www.google.com/calendar/embed?src=lsbsupport%40cph.org&ctz=America/Chicago

• Episcopal Liturgical Calendar: http://www.google.com/calendar/embed?src=2kvle2it9mc2euapfr1lr2103s%40group.calendar.google.com&ctz=America/Los_Angeles

I am still hunting for possible Orthodox calendars that I can import.  If you know of any, let me know.

I have just added some new widgets I found to the sidebar in this blog. One of them is the daily Orthodox readings. =)
