Chaplets

The word “chaplet” is a French word, meaning wreath or crown. It is also defined as a string of beads used for counting prayers. The word “rosary” is taken from the word “rosarium,” meaning rose garden. When you combine these last two definitions, the significance between the first and second definitions make more sense. Chaplets could be considered smaller (though not necessarily) versions of the rosary; yet, the prayers and devotions that are associated with their multiple forms can be very different from traditional rosary prayers.
